On Monday, 2/13/2023 the Town Council meeting was called to order by Andrew Olman, Town Council Vice President. All present joined in giving the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting began without President Deb Shumate, who later joined.
Minutes from the January 9, 2023 meeting was presented. A motion was made by Mark Marsee to approve these minutes. Drew Olman seconded that motion. All Ayes.
Claims/Financials/Payroll: After review of the claims presented, A motion was made by Mark Marsee to approve. Drew Oman seconded that motion. All Ayes. The 2022 Year End Report was reviewed by the board and signed.
Town Manager Report: Report was submitted and presented by Doug Price.
Town Marshall Report: Report was submitted by Phillip Wilson, Town Marshall.
Milan Park Board Report: Report was submitted by Derrick Helton.
Misc./Comments/Concerns from Public: There were no comments or concerns from the public.
Old/Continuing Business: There was no Old/Continuing Business to report on.
New Business: Mark Marsee made a motion to approve the Application for Solicitation, applied for by Youth Baseball, to have a roadblock on 4/1/2023. Drew Olman seconded that motion. All Ayes. Katie Poole, on behalf of Youth Baseball, asked for permission to have an Opening Day Parade on 4/29/2023, Mark Marsee to approve. Drew Olman seconded that motion. All Ayes. Anita Pitts, on behalf of the Lions Club, thanked S&S Spurlock, the town and its employees for all the support for getting Christmas lights put up and taken down. She also talked to the cost of replacing lights for Christmas decoration and the replacing banners. She asked for the town to pay $500 toward the cost of replacement bulbs and banners. Mark Marsee made a motion to pay the $500 out of the Riverboat Fund and Drew Olman seconded the motion. All Ayes. Doug Price talked to the board about starting the process to hire for summer help by advertising in the paper.
A motion was made by Drew Olman to adjourn the meeting. Mark Marsee seconded that motion. All Ayes.
