Meeting called to order by Deborah Shumate, Council President, on Monday April 11, 2022 at 6:30pm. All Council members present. All Present joined in giving the pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes Of March meetings were presented. There being no correction to said minutes, they were approved. Mark Marsee made motion to approve, Drew Olman seconded. All ayes. Motion carried.
Claims/Financials: After review of the claims presented, motion to accept and pay claims made by Drew Olman, seconded by Mark Marsee. All Ayes. Motion carried
Town Report: presented by Doug Price.
Town Marshall's Report: presented by Phillip Wilson, Town Marshall.
Park Board: Derek Helton gave update.
New Business: Jodi Comer gave an update on OCRA water facility Grant. She stated that there must be a public hearing for the submission of funds. Tentative date will be 6/2/2022.
Pike Lumber's abatement was approved by a motion from Mark and a second from Drew. Lynn Fledderman stated that we can do an amendment to the current resolution if needed. All ayes. Motion passed.
First reading on Ordinance 4/11/2022 (Ordinance to Amend Chapter 73 Creating Handicap Parking) was presented. Mark made motion to approve, Drew seconded. All Ayes.
Debbie Shumate reminded everyone that the Town Clean-up will take place May 13-22.
Doug Price presented to Council an approved zone map change in regard to Ben Walke's property at the corner of Ripley and David. Ordinance to Amend the Unified Zoning Ordinance of Ripley County, Indiana was approve by a vote from Drew and a second from Mark. All ayes. Ordinance amended.
Misc. Business:
Jane Vinup asked for an update on where handicap parking will be placed. Sally Gosmeyer wanted to thank the Town workers for helping with the baskets. She, also, asked for volunteers to plant new planters along W Carr St. Jane Vinup and Debra Hackman said they will take care of planting them. Money to purchase plants will come from monies given to the Beautification Committee from the Town per Sally Gosmeyer.
