On Monday, 6/12/2023 the Town Council meeting was called to order by Deb Shumate, Town Council President. All present joined in giving the Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes from the May 8, 2023 regular meeting and was presented and reviewed. A motion was made by Drew Olman to approve these minutes. Mark Marsee seconded that motion. The motion was put to a vote and motion carried.
Claims/Financials/Payroll: After review of the claims and payroll, a motion was made by Drew Olman to approve. Mark Marsee seconded that motion. The motion was put to a vote and motion carried.
Town Manager Report: Report for May was submitted and presented by Doug Price.
Town Marshall Report: Report for May was submitted by Phillip Wilson, Town Marshall.
Milan Park Board Report: Report for May was submitted by Derrick Helton.
Old/Continuing Business:
Drew Olman made a motion not to give to the Milan Fireworks Fund, Mark Marsee seconded that motion. The motion was put to a vote and motion carried.
The Town is still in process of applying for the USDA Rural Development Funding for the Drinking Water Project.
Drew Olman made a motion to put the full amount of Riverboat Funds into TrustINdiana. Mark Marsee seconded that motion. The motion was put to a vote and motion carried.
New Business:
Deb Shumate filled in for Tim Mollinari and gave an update on the Street Light Project.
A motion was made by Mark Marsee to approve the solicitation request from the Milan Youth Wrestling and to wave the fee as long as the high visibility vests are worn the whole time. Drew Olman seconded that motion. The motion was put to a vote and motion carried.
Comments Concerns from the Public:
Jeff Poole on behalf of the CARES organization informed the Town Board that they would be having a 5K event on the 4th of July starting at the grade school and what the route would be.
Mr. Clark, the Milan resident scheduled on the agenda did not show.
A motion was made by Mark Marsee to approve the Milan Lions Club Parade and the parade route, as well as assistance by the Town Police. Drew Olman seconded that motion. The motion was put to a vote and motion carried.
As there was no further business to be conducted by the Town Council, Drew Olman made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:09 pm and Mark Marsee seconded that motion. The next regular meeting of the Town Council is scheduled to be held July 10, 2023 at 6:30 pm.
On Monday, 6/26/2023 the Town Council held an executive session to speak with several individuals about potential property transactions. The meeting was called to order by Deb Shumate, Town Council President. All Council Members were present.
Three of the four, who was on the agenda, shared information and/or their business plan. The fourth did not show up.
There were no decisions made.
As there was no further business to be conducted by the Town Council, Drew Olman made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Mark Marsee. The next regular meeting of the Town Council is scheduled to be held July 12, 2023 at 6:30 pm
