Town of Milan Monthly Meeting Minutes, August 15, 2022

Meeting called to order by President, Deborah Shumate, on Monday August 15, 2022 at

6:30pm. All Present joined in giving the pledge of Allegiance. All Council members present.

Minutes of July meetings were presented to Council. Minutes were approved as written. Mark Marsee made the motion to approve with Drew Olman seconding. All ayes. Minutes approved.

Claims/Financials/Payroll: After review of the claims presented, motion to accept and pay claims made by Drew, seconded by Mark, All Ayes. Motion carried.

Town Report: Same presented by Doug Price.

Town Marshall's Report: Same presented by Marshal Wilson.

Milan Park Board Report: Submitted.

Old/Continuing Business: Second reading of Ordinance 5-9-2022. Mark made motion to approve, Drew seconded. All ayes.

Speed tables on Country Club Dr. were discussed. Two bids will need to be acquired. Tabled until next meeting.

Second reading of Ordinance 2022-6-13 was approved by a motion from Mark and a second from Drew. All ayes.

New Annual Christmas Walk solicitation was approve by a motion from Drew and a second from Mark. All ayes.

Deductible meters discussed. The cost of these meters will be passed to consumers wanting to purchase.

John Ingram presented to Council a bid for sidewalk replacement at 200 W Carr and Franklin ST.

Council will table until next meeting until they have talked to Museum about street light placement.

Miscellaneous Business/Comments: John Ingram asked about heavy trash and the amount of things they will accept. Debbie Shumate explained that they only pick up two items per household. (Per month)

Jane Vinup asked Council for additional money for planting fall mums. Council agreed to an amount of $175.00. This was approved by a motion from Mark and a second from Drew. This will come out of Riverboat fund. All ayes.

Charlie Bryant asked that ditch by his home be cleaned out. Doug Price said they will clean it up when they do other ditches. He explained that property owners have to give permission to have this done.

Drew made motion to adjourn, Mark seconded. All ayes. Motion carried.
