Town of Milan Monthly Meeting Minutes, May 10, 2021

Meeting called to order by Deborah Shumate, Council President, on Monday May 10, 2021 at 6:30 pm. All Present joined in giving the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes of April meeting were presented. There being no addition to said minutes, Drew Olman made a motion to approved as written, with Mark Marsee seconding. All ayes.

Claims/Financials/Payroll: After review of claims presented, motion to accept and pay was made by Mark Marsee, seconded by Drew Olman. All ayes. Motion carried.

Town Report: Same presented by Doug Price.

Town Marshall's Report: Same presented by Marshal Phillip Wilson.

Milan Park Board Report: Same presented by Derek Helton. He reported that basket ball court had been painted, 5k had been canceled, soccer field has been re-seeded and Don Call has been working on Park benches.

Concerns/Comments from the public:

Sally Gosymeyer asked if we had hired anyone yet and if the limbs at the Park could be picked up. Jane Vinup wanted to know if the memorial rock they had placed in the Park could be returned to her since it had been removed from the walking path. Derek told her, he would see that it got returned to her. Deanna Demotte wanted to know why the lights at the Buddy Boone always needed repaired. Derek told her it was because they are solar and not getting enough light.

Old Business:

Debbie Shumate gave an up on the Annual Town Clean Up

New Business:

The 4th of July parade will be held on Sunday this year. Rev. Harrris said it will be sometime after church services, maybe 1:00 or possibly 4:00. The town and the police will be informed of the exact time.

Miscellaneous Business:

Derek asked Council for approval to purchase additional water meters. He stated he needed approximately 300 more. Mark made motion to approve purchasing 150 at this time and Drew seconded. All ayes. Motion approved.

Jane Vinup wanted to know how long sidewalk replacement would take in front of her shop. Doug stated it would take approximately 2 to 3 weeks.

Drew makes a motion to adjourn with Mark Seconding. All ayes. Meeting adjourned.
